About Kazashima Shrine

Kazashima Shrine is a small Shinto shrine located on Benten-iwa Rock
in Katanoo, Sado Island, Niigata, Japan.

Surrounded by sea, wind, and rock,
this quiet place has long been a site of prayer and reverence.


Enshrined Deities

Kazeshima Shrine enshrines three Shinto deities:

  • Ichikishimahime-no-Mikoto
    A deity of water, harmony, and sacred arts.
  • Ukanomitama-no-Mikoto
    A deity of food, harvest, and daily sustenance.
  • Okuninushi-no-Mikoto
    A deity of life paths, connections, and guidance.

Spiritual Meaning

This shrine is not a place for loud wishes or fortune-seeking.
It is a place to calm the mind,
to offer gratitude,
and to quietly reflect on one’s life.

Visitors are welcome to pray in silence
and spend a moment away from daily concerns.
